I will never pass judgement on anyone making life changing decisions for themselves but I was offered this when I was pregnant with my daughter. I was told she would be born with cerebral palsy and hydro encephalitis and most likely will need a shunt to relieve the pressure on her brain. I was told she would most certainly be cognitively disabled. I was advised to meet with a geneticist. I declined. At 5 months pregnant I made the choice of continuing the pregnancy. My daughter was born 6 weeks early. She was 4.6 pounds and wouldn’t take the bottle nor would she nurse. She was fed with a line going down her nose into her stomach. She stayed in the NICU until she learned to eat…about a week. My daughter was born with NOT ONE complication. She started walking between her 10th and 11th month. When she got into first grade, she was placed in the TAG program and remained in TAG for the duration of her academic career. She is now 25 with a 4 year old son and works at a law firm. I’m beyond grateful that I did not listen to the medical “professionals”. God had other plans for my daughter and she is in perfect health. Not only am I blessed to have her as a daughter but she is also an awesome best friend. We have an extremely close relationship and she is the physical manifestation of my heart.❤️
