I adore this film, but it does miss out the fact that the little ships at Dunkirk were largely commandeered by the navy, and some civilians insisted on driving their own boats, so Kenneth Branagh’s character wouldn’t have been so surprised at their arrival 😅

My Grandfather was in the OXs & Bucks regiment fighting a rearguard action helping to protect Dunkirk spent the rest of the war a POW after the long march from Dunkirk to Poland.
