@daniellejmitchell: My first born daughter, we had a cord prolapse, cat 1 emergency csection, put to sleep, cut hip to hip, born unresponsive, brought back to life, with a short stay in the NICU. The birth trauma was unimaginable, I wanted a vbac, for control of my body, and to experience that was taken from me, but then our second daughter was diagnosed with a condition that made her incompatible with life at 26 weeks pregnant, we weren’t offered a csection, there was no question I needed to have a vbac, and everything was totally out of my control again, the only thing I could control was the choice of medication, and I wanted to feel like I could control my body, everything was taken from me, my daughters life, our future, rewriting what birthing looked like for me, I wasn’t taking medication to take away feeling in my body, I wasn’t numb enough. Bringing our sleeping angel earthside at 26 weeks pregnant, labour vlog ☁️🪽, terminating for medical reasons does not make this process any easier, she is wanted and loved by so many people, she just wasn’t compatible with life in earthside. Documenting because we never want baby Maggie to be forgotten, her story is so important to our family, and sharing online because I know how alone I felt in these moments, and how I felt like I couldn’t survive, wishing I could see someone that had been through it, and come out the other side.
