The 25% Vote Requirement in the FCT: They contended that a candidate must secure at least 25% of the total votes cast in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, to be declared President. Since Tinubu did not reach 25% in Abuja, they argued his return was invalid. Double Nomination & Qualification Issues: The petitioners challenged the qualification of Vice President Kashim Shettima (alleging double nomination as both a senatorial and vice-presidential candidate) and brought up a 1993 US civil forfeiture case involving $460,000 against Bola Tinubu, arguing it constituted a disqualifying criminal conviction.
