It's always fine to say no to photos if you're busy, stressed, on your way somewhere, tired, or just don't want to! Hospital play specialists are the absolute best 🥰

bit late seeing this post, but yeah, don't feel bad about saying no to pictures. it was a stressful time for you, it is absolutely okay to say no when it's like that, or really, it's absolutely okay to say no anytime quite frankly 🥰❤️you handled it brilliantly by the sound of things, hope things got better for you afterwards ❤️❤️

I'm seeing a lot of defensive comments about the picture, no, it wasn't the time or place but how do you know the girl knew what was happening? she could've been off social media for a while...? I have autism and it takes a lot of courage for me to ask someone for something, even my relatives I wish I could give both the girl and bec and her family a massive hug during this time

As an anaesthetic ODP in theatres I’m so glad you all came out with a positive experience! It’s so important to us to set a tone for the kids especially when it’s their first surgery x hope his recovery is speedy💗

im so so happy for you, obviously the ptsd from your surgeries will never go away but i hope this experience has helped everyone in the family feel a little bit safer when it comes to hospital stays xx

Oh getting a little emotional listening, I’m so glad it went so well, family history can really scare little ones away from the hospital setting for life but I’m so glad they took care of you all, I hope that experience changes the little ones mindset towards going to hospital. Stories like this are the reason why I decided I wanted to be a children’s nurse 🤍

Baking soda rinses to help prevent bacteria building up and mouth wash for the first couple days because it will stink! Make sure the mouth wash is rubbing alcohol free!
