Also, there were multiple wealthy black communities that were literally destroyed by white people, and anyone who survived was displaced. (Ex. Tulsa, Rosewood, Seneca Village, etc)

Thank you for mentioning WW2. That’s when my grandad came of age, went to college, joined the military, became one of the 1st Black officers and changed the trajectory of our family. He retired on a military pension and kept working in the private sector
