I'd argue you would need to understand the character pretty well to make convincing ship content. A well written relationship needs analysis and introspection to work.

I believe that a lot of ships (one's where the characters have a deep bond or history) actually expands and lets us learn so much more about the characters because a lot of times the relationships is what shapes them or show us how they look in different 'light' ( . ❛ ᴗ ❛ . )

It also makes little sense when they say that about a character that’s in or has a duo/pair (whether romantic or platonic, etc.). For the simple reason that sometimes that pair is such a key component to their character that you’re going to bring them up anyway. That understanding them includes the duo they’re with. Sometimes character analysis is better when including their dynamics with another character, like a ship.

like... why my fyp suddenly showing a lot of this "how x looks like when you don't see them to a ship" content... i literally see and read a lot of deep character analysis, especially mydei from phaide fan account than them 🙃 and they're the one who make me interested to mydei as a character 🙂

So true but when you check the account not once they make any analysis of said character, just make a vague post and suddenly they are better than everyone. They can always make an analysis content so people could talk about the character but no let's blame the shippers for having fun not me

Is because usually the queer ships are the ones glazed and reduce the character to only that. Let’s take for example the most popular straight ships in genshin, which sadly aren’t many. Jeanluc, Kinlani, Neuvifuri, Kokorou, etc. BECAUSE they aren’t big people still gets the chance to see the characters by who they are. I can promise you there’s a lot more of fans of THE CHARACTER than of the ship. On the other hand, ships like kazuscara, wriollete, eimiko, etc, there’s nothing wrong with them but since they’re a common topic to talk about in the community their characters usually will start to be seen as only a part of the ship by whoever is not a fan of the character. You can’t do that trend when really there’s no straight ship to talk about
