I'm a woman with no ambition too! my ambition is to have a nice environment around me, at my home, and to be able to sustain it while doing something I enjoy. and that's it. I don't feel like I'm losing something or have less, just because I don't care for titles or something. I don't find it necessary for me.

I don’t consider myself conservative or a tradwife. I’m just a stay at home mom. Like I said in another comment, I became a Mom before establishing any sort of career. I never really knew what I wanted to do growing up, but I always knew I wanted to be a mom. That’s the only thing that stayed consistent throughout my life, and now here I am. Is being a stay at home Mom hard some days yes but being a mom in general is hard. Personally, I’d rather do it this way than work all day while my son is in daycare. And maybe one day I will decide that there’s something else out there that I want to do for a living but right now being home with my son is all I want.

I hate that they rebranded being a stay at home mom. I’m currently staying at home because that’s what makes sense in our situation, but our relationship is not “trad”.

To take it a step further, my goal isn’t to convince them not to be a trad wife. If you like it, I love it for you. However that is the CHOICE you made and everyone should have the opportunity to choose the life they want too

These trad wives are young too. They’re still very much adolescents. We were all that age once and we all thought we knew everything, we all thought we were grown. Only now we’re older do we realise how little we actually knew and how much we still don’t know

As a parent, it’s also easy to feel like you’re on top of it when you have one baby and that baby has started sleeping well (but isn’t walking yet). We’re hearing from these ladies when it really is calm and about snuggles and baking bread, and when they can bounce back instantly.

yes! my sister and I were raised in a conservative amish-style cult. she stayed, has had 3 kids in 4 years, and is the very definition of tradwife. her husband is a sweet kind man, and she really loves her peaceful little life. telling her she's in cage would make her burst out laughing, you are spot on. I don't argue her anymore, it will not change her perspective

I just keep thinking about how much anything more than a 3 month gap in my work history would stress me out, about how hard I have had to fight my entire adult life to build a solid resume. And even with that all that effort, there are countless prestigious jobs that I will never have access to. These tradwives have no idea how much of the world is straight up inaccessible to them because they didn’t put in the work when they were younger and how much more is lost because they are opting out today. It seems suffocating.

I'm a dude and I'm in a gay marriage. We're planning on having one kid. and we both want to stay home. both of us will probably end up working, but I would love to stay home and make all of our food from scratch And focus on my herbalism, and my husband would like to stay home and do his photography. obviously on the side of being the stay-at-home parent. so. I'm sure being a trad wife and not having to worry about the money or the bills or politics is amazing. I'm not saying it doesn't come with other obligations or potential abuse. but I can see where some of the appeal comes from.
