Imagine how shite food would be without any regulations.

Literally whenever you point out issues where unchecked capitalism has caused harm, they say “yeah well it’s actually because of this government regulation…”

I think you're mistaken here. Governments have only gone up in terms of their impact on the economy and their costs in the last 30-40 years or so. The threat is too much intervention, not too little.

Its more because they believe in any form of less government😭 If u want to increase taxes u must do it broadly to not affect the market and incentivise different behaviour. Similarly if u want tax cuts. mini budget was purely because of a lack of preparing the markets for what the gov was going to do not particularly the cuts in and off themselves. The cuts would just decrease gov revenue.

You usually criticise centrists, but here you are championing our approach on the economy where it’s not overly regulated and nationalist and we don’t want a Milei style economy either. We need something that’s a balance of both,

UK government spending as a percentage of GDP is at 45% (for context the USSR was at ~50-55% when it fell). So clearly these economic liberals have had little to no effect on the size of the state.

Do you mean abolish the military, libertarianism essentially ? You speak of dogmatism but violence I.e. taxation is force which is dogmatism on steroids. I don’t know about government operatives but libertarians have their heads screwed on invariably. Statist solutions have terrible terrible outcomes. No violence = a peaceful society. YOU want something in the middle but using force to achieve that is on par with a dictator

libertarians are genuinely insane. we have a party full of them in Portugal, they act like everyone is a radical communist, they think that taxes are what makes the economy be slow, it's genuinely insane
