Image your entire life, you joke around, trying to be similar but is completely different from everyone around you (human vs monsters), your best friend (brother) is gone, your other friend disappears (dess) and you split off gradually from your only childhood friend (Noelle), your parents are divorced, your mother is barely living but hides her pain, your dad loses his entire life, job, marriage, money, etc. Then a random ass entity comes by and makes YOUR life better while you do nothing. No wonder Kris is so god damn depressed

half baked thought many people have already thought, but the soul is such a good allegory for depression / trauma. noelle talks so much about how kris was much friendlier and had more friends, whereas with the soul they are so lethargic and quiet. could probably expand on this, but interesting
