@sophie.founderjourney: An AI law firm (a robot lawyer!) just won a real court case in the UK - possibly the first time this has happened anywhere in the world. 🤖⚖️🌍 An AI law firm called Garfield helped a woman recover £7,000 she was owed. Her legal costs were massively lowered. AI isn’t replacing lawyers completely - a human still spoke in court. But the expensive part, all the prep beforehand, just got way cheaper. If you want to talk about debt recovery options for your business, drop a DM. #techlaw #ai #lawyer #startup #court
Not a techie, but used Claude and ChatGPT to prepare for a Court case. Weeks of preparation was condensed into three days. One day hearing. Court fee £800. Represented myself. Used AI arguments including references to established precedents. Won the case. I estimated I saved myself £27,000 in solicitors and barrister fees. Cost to me was £2500 in time lost at Work and Court fees. If I could do it then anyone can. Legal profession have fleeced us for too long.

I actually think this service should be done by the court... Pursuing all and any legal matter, whether the person knows they have a case or not.

Conveyancing will be replaced, majority of small court cases, majority of employment tribunals as well. Not there long ago lawyers said AI wouldn't impact them 🤣🤣🤣. I said they would be the first, accountants too, because it's perfect for AI. The majority of the work is process, rules and fairness, perfect for AI. Standard processes. Clear rules. AI has now got a lot better with fairness and balance. I settled an early contract termination at a fraction of the termination costs using AI, without even going to trial. The other side engaged lawyers. My cost, less than 10% of the termination costs, god knows how much they're lawyers cost, £000's at least
