@stalkers.canada: Khoa Tran of Toronto Ontario and his wife, co-accused Isabelle Nguyen, were found guilty in the killing of their Liberty Village neighbour, filmmaker Reeyaz Habib. Tran was convicted of second-degree murder, while Nguyen was convicted of accessory to murder and indignity to a human body. Habib’s body was found in a trash compactor at their townhouse complex on June 8, 2023, two days after screams were reportedly heard from his unit. The trial heard the neighbours had been involved in a dispute over barbecue smoke. Tran testified he heard screams and noises from Habib’s unit but did not initially believe a crime had occurred. Following the verdict, bail was revoked for both offenders. Tran faces a life sentence, while Nguyen faces a possible prison term.
