@labmuffinbeautyscience: Perhaps better than episode 1? He hasn’t messed up multiple ingredient lists entirely this time, at least. But: 1. There’s no such thing as “older US chemical filters” - they’re used extensively in the rest of the world, including in sunscreens with the newest filters 2. Benzophenone really isn’t as “terrible” a breakdown product as he’s making it out to be - it’s naturally occurring, and as always the dose makes the poison (the dose you’d get from sunscreen is extremely small). Mineral sunscreens are photocatalysts - they make other things react in UV, and those things are also toxic at some amount… but I don’t see him talking about how terrible they are… The significant figures might be the most offensive bit to me though, and smuggling in his own supplement in a *sunscreen* ranking… Also Sun Powder is absolutely NOT “ first product that protects your skin from the inside out against sunburn and sun damage” - they “borrow” a whole bunch of evidence from Fernblock. Which is really not the same Polypodium extract - the actives in Fernblock are standardised to remove natural variation, and for a long time Sun Powder was using the root extract instead of the leaf extract… roots and leaves aren’t the same.
