I once had a tow in for a Prius for a college student- all it needed was gas. It was empty. She was under the assumption that a hybrid was a fully electric and she didn’t need to put in gas. Her parents were pissed to say the least when they came to pick it up.

I dont get it why some people think like this. I’m not a mechanic but as far as I now is there a battery that works with the engine and a separate one for the smaller ones for the stuff that can work without the engine

This happened to me once. I took them back, showed them the 12v battery and the ev battery and then they understood. Some people need pictures to understand.

Also, if hybrid owners don’t know, if your hybrid vehicle sits too long without it being driven, it will destroy the 12v battery and no…. It’s not under warranty
