Stayed for 8 years. Didn’t realize he was a narcissist, I just thought he was mean and criticized me. Took 2 years of not engaging while still together. He left for 3.5 years. Took me 3 weeks to stop the mental and emotional voices of his in my head, a year of blocking him. Another year of trying to meet someone else. The third year he slowly snuck back in. Then we started talking again, 7 hours on the phone. He sounded so sweet and nice, like the man I met. Let him move back and 6 weeks later, I asked him to leave. They Do NOT change. Now that I know he’s a narcissist it all makes sense. So happy it only took 6 weeks, relieved, and now moving forward without ever contacting or looking back
