Guilty! . . Of course there IS such a thing as overprescribing, and there are many times when the risks/side effects of a medication aren’t worth it, but at the end of the day prescription medications have a lot of value in mental health care. I have a prescription pad, I will use it. I also have nutrition training and therapy training, I’ll use those tools, too! There are a LOT of tools in our toolbox (some of which have been extra-stigmatized lately) and I’m not ashamed to deploy them all. If that makes me a pill-pusher under the thumb of big-pharma? Ok. I’m ok being called that as long as my patients are being well taken care of and getting the appropriate treatment(s) they deserve. #doctorsoftiktok #MentalHealth #fyp
