You described this perfectly. I live with my grief and it’s proof I was loved and that I loved my dad so much. It’s so painful and at first I hated it, but now I feel the sadness and I’m thankful because I feel lucky I had that love. X

I couldn’t agree more with this. I’ve also had multiple people say “I thought you’d be over it by now”. How fortunate they are to not really know what they’re talking about

100% agree. It’s been 11 years that I loathe my dad, I still have a little cry cause of how much I miss him. My ex thought I would be “over it” a month after. This is why he is an ex

The inside out 2 example is perfect. Because grief is always accompanied by something.. grief is love that feels lost. Becoming familiar with grief and not fearing it is key

So true!!! Grief is something you live with just like all the other emotions except this emotion is around alll the time sometimes it’s quiet and sometimes it’s loud. It’s not something you get over, it’s something you carry forever. I HATEEEE when people want you to forget you lost someone like?? My brain still can’t comprehend losing my sister 2 years ago and my grandad 6 months ago. I don’t think it’s something you can ever get over and anyone saying that is just ignorant. People won’t understand until they feel it for themselves buttt they can try to empathise. Anyway that’s my 2 pence🫣 Sending you so much love ❤️🩹

my mum was still grieving for her mum, who died 25 years prior, till the day she died. I lost my mum in January. I will be grieving longer than we knew each other.

It’s crazy because my Nana lost my D-daddy (my grandad) in 2020 and hasn’t been the same since, and it’s horrible because now I’m grieving her and she’s still her and she raised me… I know she won’t just get over it obviously, but I want my Nana back so bad. I know getting older is inevitable, but I’m terrified of losing her.
