See if it starts on ether. If so then its definitely fuel related

Great video man! Glad the filters are in the correct orientation now!

Dumb question did you hand prime the truck until the primer gets hard my truck lost prime one day and acted exactly like this till I hand primed it? I heard you deleted the under hood filter after typing this but sounds like a prime issue to me

it’s air locked. the rails are full of air which causes rail pressure to only build about 220-400 psi. make sure you cycle the glow plugs like 5 times to make sure they stay off or unplug the glow plug control module and shoot ether into it and it will make the injectors fire which will release the air and let rail pressure build up. you almost have to do it everytime when doing a head gasket job and i did my own and it did the same thing. the cp3 running dry for the time you turned it over did not hurt it or blow the seals out. you have to run them dry for a long time to blow them out

if you're stuck at 250 it could be something as easy as a bad sensor

sounds like it's not getting fuel at the end

try filters from fass , i had a gmc come in with a “ fass “ filter but the draw straw pushes down on a mechanical spring on the bottom of the inside of the filter that allows 100% non aerator doesn’t

Had our lmm have issues with the fuel rail pressure sensor (screw in sensor on the rear side of fuel rail on passenger side) may help you may not

Mine did this a few weeks ago it was the fuel rail pressure sensor

There's a sensor on the rear of the cp3 if it's not reading right it won't push the correct amount of fuel to the truck I would look into finding a buddy with a scanner that can ready the pressure for the fuel rail

When you deleted the under hood filter, did you do a filter by pass? If so there is a ball with a spring( check valve) that will not allow fuel at higher pressure then stick through

Same problem happened to me. It’s a sensor right by the valley. I think it’s the low pressure pump sensor. It’s a little spring in it and allows the field to flow check that

Obviously not a ford but man I’ve had issues with 6.4s before have to crank and crack and crank and crack. Usually start and shut off right away a couple times crack it open after again.

My buddies, their max has a fass on it and the filter head delete under the hood, but yeah, if he runs his out of fuel, it absolutely will not start unless it has a small shot of ether to takeoff on
