Yes, but the house should be in certain areas and at certain prices. I wanted to buy in London, so I gave it back.

It’s good information. But you have got to remember that the house needs To be under 450,000 so people in main city’s good luck. Also if you dont abide by the rules. ( which by the way the goverment have been known to use these against people ) the state will fine you 25% of the isa. No, not what the state put in but 25 % of ur entire isa

A lifetime ISA should be openable from age 1. And parents should be allowed to make contributions and it should also be exempt from benefits saving allowance entirely unless they withdraw for any other reason other than buying a house or Retirement. And punish people who withdraw earlier so people I’d say 35% then it forces people to use only for a house or retirement. Keeps people disciplined these changes will help majority of people on the lower scale actually be able to save up for a house and get a little bonus without having benefits cut for saving more than £6k theirs something called the benefits trap millions face if you try to better yourself by saving to eventually get out of a bad situation while struggling you get punished so remove the benefits saving cap for lifetime ISA entirely.

if you don't use it on a house you can take it out at retirement I believe. so might not even cost you the 6.5p either. though £1 when we retire will probably be worth about 6.5p

Personal finance, debt, saving, income, and investing, should be taught in school. Then we could build generation wealth and get people out of poverty and debt.

Very important that if you decide to do this that you understand it's either for a first time property purchase which is NOT buy to let, or you are happy to use it for your pension, as the only other time you can cash out penalty free is after you are 60.
It will cost 25% of the total amount in the LISA to withdraw it for anything other than a first time property purchase before you are 60.

Also, get it up and running before Apr '28 and you'll be able to use it for retirement too!!! It become a house buying tool only after this time.

Me and my Mr's are saving ever penny from the child benefit we receive and when we got enough, buy a gold bullion coin. My plan is to do this for 18 years and when my son turns 25 I'll give him a small fortune. Trust me it's better than any savings account in the world and I'd recommend to anyone
