@milahabsy: PCOS (PMOS) is often referred to as the “diabetes of the ovaries” because insulin resistance plays a major role in many of its symptoms. When insulin levels stay high, it can signal the ovaries to produce more testosterone. This can contribute to symptoms such as cravings, weight gain around the midsection, acne, excess facial hair, and irregular periods. By supporting your blood sugar balance, you’re also supporting your hormones. When your body has the right foundations, it can begin working with you instead of against you. 🤍 Note: Not everyone with PCOS has insulin resistance, but it is a common underlying factor for many women. #pcos #pcoslife #pcossupport #pcosawareness #fyp

I’m diabetic and don’t suffer with insulin resistance. Not every disease has to be correlated. There’s already enough misinformation about diabetes and PMOS let’s treat them as separate distinctive conditions please.

Huh no? You can fit into the criteria for pcos/pmos even without insulin resistance

it's really not though, in the same sense that people who say "endometriosis is cancer" are also wrong, because you're simplifying a medical condition down to components that don't make up the entire picture. diabetes is more than just insulin issues 😭

PMOS is a whole-body endocrine and metabolic disorder, not ovarian diabetes. Insulin resistance is common, but not everyone develops it or diabetes.

It’s not really in the ovaries though. People with pmos and a hysterectomy (with ovaries removed aswell) still experience symptoms

The biggest thing that helped me was learning about insulin resistance and how it can affect so many symptoms. I also use a science-backed tea and fiber combo that’s helped support my blood sugar, cravings, and energy.
