@whichuk: Back in 2024, we launched a landmark legal claim against Apple. We believe that the tech giant breached competition law, effectively locking millions of consumers into its iCloud service at rip-off prices. Around 40 million Apple customers in the UK who have used iCloud services on or after 8 November 2018 could be entitled to up to £77 in compensation if the claim is successful. We recently shared the good news that we have been certified to take forward the claim against the multi-trillion-dollar tech giant, and we now have another positive update and some details about what this means for you.  The court has now granted Which? its ‘Collective Proceedings Order’ (CPO), giving us permission to proceed with the claim, and marking the end of this first stage of the claim process. The granting of the CPO marks a significant milestone in the battle for more choice in the consumer cloud market and is an essential step in allowing us to progress this claim against the tech giant. This is one step closer to seeking compensation for iCloud customers. No company should be able to abuse its market position and we believe Apple ripped off its customers with inflated iCloud subscription fees, and we plan to hold it to account. visit cloudclaim.co.uk to find out if you're eligible for a payout.

Your claim is that Apple essentially forced people to use iCloud and don’t allow other cloud storage options… I literally have iCloud AND OneDrive useable on my device! This is a nothing lawsuit, that won’t go anywhere! Pointless!

If you were domiciled in the United Kingdom on 8 June 2026, you do not need to opt in to the claim as you are automatically part of the Class.

Do you’re research @Which? You can use other storage providers, you have for years. You can download others from the App Store. Google Drive, Dropbox, One Drive and even Amazon.
