The car would have stalled before they left your lot if the fob was not present. No way they completed a test drive without a fob in the car

they kept the key so they can come back later for the car. you should probably keep the car inside

touch the door handle outside to lock the car, screen will tell u if the key is in the car or try starting it. dont need to look around the cabin

Can the key be reprogrammed? They probably have a jeep and needed a replacement key fob. They are expensive so now they got a free one

You need to look into your business policies & write new policies to prevent this happening again. To me, no one followed standard basic car dealership/ test driving protocols & that is why this happened.

I worked at a dealership and we always have spare keys in case customers leave with keys. The sales agent has to pay out of pocket for spare key to be duplicated. We have no time to be detective. Lol

Actually the car will run without the FOB but you can’t shut it off or that’s where you will stay. My niece frantically called me to help because she left her house without the FOB and she drove to work (30km) no problem. I brought her the keys later

I found part 2. They didn’t find the key. The customer thought it was a bad omen and cancelled the deal. Someone came in the next day and bought the car

The car doesn't auto lock when key is in the car.Since the car is still unlocked its the key is in the car.
