Exactly. When I met who I thought was the “love of my life,” it felt like fireworks, rockets, confetti, all the big loud things. But when I met my soon-to-be wife, it felt like early morning light through a window, a breeze on a hot day, a nap after swimming. It felt like something I’d known all my life, but somehow still had room to learn more and more. It just felt like home.

I was married and loved my husband very much. Had a work friend. I know it sounds cliche, he was never disrespectful toward my marriage in anyway. I only had eyes for my husband. A year later my husband decided to delete himself. It was so unexpected and tragic. I was drowning in grief and toxic environment happening with my own family at home. John and I reconnected and I found out he’d had feelings for me. After spending time with him and his family they showed me so much love, support and selflessness. They showed me what a healthy support system looked like and a healthy family dynamic. How we met isn’t a traditional love story, there was no meet cute. But, he was there. In the background. And he’s been my rock through it all. We’ve now been together for 11 years and have 3 kids.
