I always remind my son it’s ok to cry and it doesn’t make him less of a man, it’s ok to feel his emotions, to process them, and that I’m here if he needs to talk. I notice every emotion he has when something is wrong, the look on his face, the tone in his voice, the way he walks, the way he carries his head and so much more. I check in with him everyday asking how he’s mentally doing no matter what! Checking in daily is so important

I appreciate that PSHE and RSE exist in schools, but I don’t believe they’re given the depth or importance of core subjects like Maths and English. Yet so many of society’s biggest struggles heartbreak, loneliness, toxic relationships, family breakdowns, and mental health challenges are rooted in emotional and relationship skills. We teach people how to earn a living, but perhaps we should spend more time teaching people how to build healthy lives, relationships, and communities too. 🙏🏾🤎
