in first place you have, (5-x)^2+y^2=5^2. Its known that 3^2+4^2=5^2. Then: 5-x=3; x=2; y=4 Easier, no?

Did it in my head in about 15 seconds but only because the radius was 5. I imagined half of the square side as x. And the full side as 2x. Did (5-x)^2+(5-2x)^2 and quickly realised that a simple 3 4 5 triangle satisfies it.
