These executives did not think about the ripple effect before social media we had lots of services clubs parks for kids but with the introduction of social media these things have been removed.

🛑 Precisely. I am one of of maybe - MAYBE - five parents, in a school of 1300 teens - who restricts my older teen’s use of his phone - in useless public school (AND @ home!)- who ‘bans’ phones, but does not enforce it. Complete joke. And my kid says I’m helicopter parenting and controlling and crazy. I sure am. ❤️I’m the exception. And I will stand by it. It’s uber-easy to not police phone use. ‘What can you do?!’ they say! I don’t care if he resents it for like EVER. I did what was best for his emotional, physical and psychological HEALTH! And I know it. The damage to young brains and bodies will never be known, impossible. And I’m not saying he never uses his phone. He SURE does. Hours on end. Phone. TV. Desk top. All of it. And plays all the tricks he thinks I don’t know about in order to have that screen glued to his face. But he ended up with the WRONG parents, I tell him. I won’t give in, because that’s my JOB.❤️

also another fact is that there is apps like family link which lets the parents put a limit on the device to where they can shut off apps after a certain time etc so was the ban really needed when the parents who would want to can do so instead of forcing it

If parents spent more time looking after their child by checking what content they are watching or what’s being said on social media the government wouldn’t have this pass through to make digital ids the only way for people over 16 to have social media it’s all a means for control they didn’t get it the first time so they made a work around and this just happened to be the thing ‘needing support on’
