I’ve honestly loved getting back into dance, but it’s also been humbling. Sometimes I still see myself as the competitive studio girl I used to be, and then I remember that my body doesn’t move the same way it once did. I’m not as flexible, choreography doesn’t come as quickly, and picking things up on the spot can be challenging. The hardest part isn’t relearning the skills, it’s learning to be patient with myself. But I’m realizing that dance doesn’t have to look the way it did years ago to still be meaningful. Right now, it’s about showing up, growing, and finding joy in the process. Maybe I’m relearning things all over again, but that’s okay.
