Awww he wanted to spend time with them as a kid because he never had a family growing up, but for his kids to have a chance at having a dad, he has to sacrifice his want/need for a family as a youth to be in that same family as the dad. So cute but sad but in a way he’s always there

I genuinely wonder how this didnt create a paradox because the dad figured out it was his youngerself when they were first introduced but didn't "remember him" if he went back to the same timeline, than the dad would know it was going to happen because he would have the memories of it
