When this came out, it literally transformed the Irish identity from something old-fashioned and conservative, it was "tweed and shamrocks," into something vibrant, confident, and legendary. It gave a generation of young Irish people permission to be proud of their heritage without feeling like they were stuck in the past. It made tradition look like a superpower.

Would watch this, rewind it (yes, on VHS😂) and watch it again immediately when I was a kid. Just found it on YouTube like a month ago and watched it again for the first time in like 25 years and it has the exact same effect on me. Incredible
