kids shouldn't be napping after age 2. This is what Natuonwide Children's Hospital says, and I agree.

Im in total agreement! Im not mean, but I will never let them walk all over me. I set up structure the first day of school. And the nap time thing, Im always sure that they have all used the bathroom, I tell them "We have all used the potty, we should not be getting up to use the bathroom during nap." They all sleep, no accidents.

I totally agree with her. And yes all kids preschool age need a nap. Plus it’s state requirement

Absolutely agree! Longtime preschool/pre-k teacher and I have rules I enforce and strong boundaries. I am also loving and kind and give hugs and positive attention. My kids know and learn quickly when new that I mean what I say and always follow through. They test and see what they can get away with. I hate when other staff have to step in for my break or appointments because the kids act like they haven’t been to school a day in their life!! They get away with things from the other staff who don’t necessarily follow my rules or understand that the children are testing them

State laws require a nap. We have to have them rest on cots for 45 minutes

I 100 percent agree with this. I am not mean but I am stern because they will walk all over you. I also have a very strict routine that is followed every single day. they thrive off routine. when I am not there it is nothing but chaos. last time they had to put 3 teacher in my class when I was not there. I am in the threes. I have been told my class is one of the best classes and I am one of the best teachers. at least that is what I have been told. I am NOT perfect.

I hate taking my break right before or right at lunch/ nap because when I come back my room is a H.A.M. then I feel like a witch trying to get my class back in control. I've been told jokingly I'm not allowed to call out due to the fact that if I'm not in my room my students are insane. because the floaters don't want to do what they're supposed to
