@lobro15: What takes Addy 12 minutes to walk in would take the typical person 2 minutes. NEVER take the anything for granted 💛 #spinabifida #disability #medicalmom #specialneeds #viralvideo
Girl I love you and I have been loving following Addie’s journey but id like to give you a little suggestion, pay attention to how you talk about her walker. Those little moments of “hopefully she won’t always need it” add up, as a disabled person myself i know. Babies understand more than you think, and by hearing you say that what she’s going to internalize is “mommy thinks this thing I need is bad, am I bad for needing it?” As a disabled kid her self esteem might be more fragile than a typical child, so being mindful of how you talk about those things is really important. Even if she does always need some sort of Aid, that’s not a bad thing. Mobility aids are freedom. Im sure you’ve watched how she’s thrived since starting using it. You’re doing great, but it’s something to keep in mind :)

AFO’s will make a huge difference! My daughter needed them for a while due to a spasticity issue and as soon as she got them on she took off on her own. She was so ready to walk and Addy will be too!

I’ve been following you since the days of your struggle, exhaustion, and sadness while you were pregnant and staying in the hospital. Seeing you now, happy with your baby girl, makes me so happy. I’m truly happy for both of you. Sending you so much love from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. 🤍🇸🇦
