I do feel like I grew up in an environment where I was forced to take care of myself for so long that now I deeply crave being in a dynamic where I feel like I can finally turn my brain off, even just sometimes. So for me it’s not fear as much as it is exhaustion but that’s probably part of it too

Adulting is HARD, i am in constant anxiety, I have like 10 bills and 50 chores, and I don't have any free time. But that's what freedom means, the alternative is to stay at home and let daddy and mommy do everything for me.

i experience both the anxiety of too much freedom and the crippling fear of losing it (it manifests the most with big decisions in life which i perceive as “eliminating other options” for me)

Im also feeling like an adult for the first time. Engaged at 19 in a conservative Bible college, married at 20. I was a pastors wife at a mega church for 7 years. The last three years I’ve faced DEEP existential fear. At almost 31 years old, I’m finally really to start creating and living my own life 🤲

The fear is so valid bc as someone who has the life I always thought I wanted… it’s still life. It’s not great and I don’t think I’d make the same choices. But on paper it’s great it makes sense. It’s not bad but not what I thought it was gonna be.

I grew up with a mother who always told me to stay independent because she suffered so much under not having independence herself. At the same time I feel this fear of taking responsibility like you explained in this video, it’s a wild mix of internal feelings 🫠
