"The Lord is my refuge," :
Jesus Christ is the visible image of the invisible God. Out of love, God entered His own creation, taking on human flesh, and humbling Himself in perfect obedience to His own holy law - fulfilling what we could never fulfill ourselves. On the cross, Jesus took upon Himself the punishment we deserve for our sin and rebellion, dying in our place. He rose from the dead, conquering sin and death, so that through faith in Him, we can be forgiven, reconciled to God, and receive eternal life.
This grace is a free gift from God and cannot be earned by our good works; it is only through the blood of Jesus that we can be redeemed and made right with God. 1 John 5:7
7 For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, the Word, and the Holy Ghost: and these three are one. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
(John 3:16)
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in
him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 14:27 — Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 16:33 — These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
Matthew 4:4
4 But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
1 John 2:22-23
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.
23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.
