I’m also in western mass, also dealing with possible endo. I know a few in Boston but I was recommended to see Dr. Ulrich at UConn obgyn. Not sure if your insurance covers ct but if it does might be a good option. The provider who referred me says she does lots of imaging before hand and actually involves other specialties when doing the excision so like GI, urology etc depending on where the endo is located.

You def made it to western Ma TikTok! I work in healthcare so I will ask around but baystate seems to be getting less reliable. I know it’s quite a drive but if all else fails Hartford Hospital is almost a Boston level hospital that’s way closer to the pioneer valley than Boston. I don’t know if they take HNE but I had my mom transferred there from holyoke for a higher level of care before she was discharged a few weeks ago and they were pretty good. Theres bad apples everywhere but overall I think she was well taken care of. She was there for a full week and seemed to go well. She wasn’t there for a gyno thing though so I don’t have direct experience with that team.

Maybe try Mayo Clinic? I’ve had my two surgeries out of pocket. I cried too. And now I do patient advocacy to try and change the system for everyone. I hope you can find the care you need ❤️🩹

Most specialists do not take insurance. However the hospital they perform surgery at could be in your network. I wish you success in your journey🌸

Your insurance doesn’t recognize endo as a specialty? If you can’t switch insurance, I’d really look into petitioning that. That’s a really old school way of thinking.

health new england only reaches to the middle of the state. pretty much all boston doctors are off the table unless they also come out here. we ran into this when looking for a geneticist for my husband and son. they both have a genetic disorder that can cause rapid anuerisms.

Health New England is trash and hires unqualified representatives to try to clear up any confusions or questions members have. I know because I used to answer for them after hours and I have no background in these complex Medicare advantage plans. It felt criminal & listening to these callers explain their medical history begging for assistance broke my soul so I quit. All private insurance these days are a scam but I feel like Medicare advantage insurances are a whole nother level to this sham.

Move into CT. Hartford Hospital is in network for HNE, so that’s an option. Also, FIGHT. If there’s a true access to care problem, they can approve you for out-of-network care. But you have to advocate strongly. This isn’t a criticism of HNE but rather health plans in general.
