And they never listen to us when the perpetrator is a white man. Our biggest threat is white men not only because they make up the majority of crimes against women and girls but they also protect each other, the system protects them and they will still have a pint with each other on a Friday and victim blame. There’s no uproar no riots it all gets swept under the carpet by the community, police, court system and government

My theory is that grooming gangs, white boys being left behind in education, and the rise of Reform/Restore all have the same root cause, which is contempt for the working class. For years we’ve made jokes about chavs, and universal credit, and laughed at people on Jeremy Kyle experiencing quite harrowing stuff. It’s why the police don’t take the complaints of working class girls seriously, it’s why working class boys don’t feel engaged with education, it’s why huge swathes of working class society feel disrespected and ignored and have been so easily fired up and pointed towards immigrants as the source of their problems. The worst part is, when people (not you, Femi) talk about these issues they still do it with a classist attitude so I can’t see how it could ever change.
