Even some people from Isaan say "I'm Khon Isaan" I'm Isaan People but also Khon Thai , Thai people but speak Lao . I'm no expert being a farang but this is what I've listened to and heard in Isaan .

esan used to be part of lanxang kingdom n lanna chaingmai ..so when the French took over they divided the country using the makhong river ..so who speak laos from lanxang end stay in Thai so they speak laos till many years have passed the language start to change a little bit by adding Thai words into the Thai language by mixing it ..the food the culture still remains from old lanxang ppl continue on til today just a little change..that all
