my grandfather used to just stare out the window of his dementia care home, as soon as he'd see me or my grandmother, he would light up 🥰 always felt good when he remembered us. your father reminds me so much of my grandfather

My grandad sat with his daughter and 4 grand daughters around a table said ‘I don’t know who any of you are, but I know you are mine’. A very fond memory to this day after his 11 year battle with dementia.

sometimes its just that one minute. That one smile, that one hello. I was very Lucky with my dad some other family members were not as lucky and its hard to watch. This is a beautiful moment to share because it is hard but we are just grateful for every moment .

I've worked with people with dementia for 15 years and one of the most touching things I've ever heard was a woman who told her grandchild that she did not remember who she was, but she knew that she was hers, and that she loved her 🥰
