Idk where to put this thought because my friends dont watch miraculous but I feel like Lila's obsession with Marinette started when Mari was the first person (at least shown) to not only not tolerate Lila but also see her lies and actively go against her. I reckon Lila felt... seen, in a way, but she twisted it into something darker and more pervasive, aiming to uncover all of Mari's secrets and seek truth about her. First her rivalry was aimed at Mari then (I think) aimed to Ladybug but now we can see she's back to just being in rivalry with Mari. We can also see so much parallels to mari and Lila both as people and heroes. I genuinely think they're meant to be
