Replying to @summizle XCX World / Charli xcx this album was set to be Charli’s third album before leaks started circulating online and the album was eventually scrapped. over time, fans gave it its own mythology with the cover, tracklists, the SoundCloud uploads, the YouTube rips, buying bootlegs on Etsy 🙋‍♂️ XCX World never technically came out, but it still feels like an important piece of Charli’s evolution as an artist. you can hear the bridge between electropop from her second album ‘Sucker’ and that hyperpop sound on the ‘Vroom Vroom’ EP that had more of that experimental lane she would keep pushing into with her future albums. this CD isn’t official, but it’s one of my favorite pieces of physical media in my collection because of the story behind it. a fan made CD from a lost pop era that somehow became bigger because it was never properly released. using Vroom Vroom for the audio here felt like the safest and most fitting choice since it comes from that same SOPHIE-produced world. it deserved its moment, but maybe part of why fans are still obsessed with it is because it never fully got one. favorite tracks 🫧 -Taxi -Waterfall -I Wanna Be With U -Queen Lizzy -Down Like Whoa -Bounce @Charli XCX #physicalmedia #charlixcx #cdplayer #cdcollection
