This will hurt the poor the most the amount of money I saved by googling how to car repair changing my own oil and everything else like that.

Probably a villain :
The Internet should have hours of operation

I think there is a lot of irony with him saying this on a podcast. Anybody else catch that?

the internet is where I go to learn all my random bonus skills/hobbies, I cant afford classes and my library is on the opposite side of my city lol

Unless they plan on bringing back a lot of stuff like paperback manuals, that would cripple industries. Most of my industry is Internet/cloud based.

The entire world would collapse. Basically every industry is now requires the internet to operate.

I understand the irony of me suggesting this here, but something else we do not need on the internet is, comment sections.

The people that decided to turn TV off at 10pm back in the 50-60’s weren’t half bad.

Internet is fine. Social media and commercializing it made everything worse

I really enjoyed that specific point in time when the internet was just starting to bring about fb , stack overflow, etc. Everything was “opt-in” and search results were relevant (sans 40% sponsored results). It felt more like a “community” and the “community” aspect wasn’t forced upon you.

While I understand the premise, our society relies on the internet too much and shit would collapse. I'm not talking about kids not figuring it out, I'm talking about companies that function online, professions like mine relying on the internet.

Let’s start with shutting down social media. I work from home. That requires Internet access. They closed the office I used to work in. There is nowhere for me to commute to.

this was already a solution on the show #TheFix with #Jimmycarr well it was to slow down the internet so it takes 2 hours to download an image or a song then people can get other shit done while they are waiting, and can't use the phone and the Internet at the same time etc....
I love it!!!
