Girl, my classroom today was 37 degrees today. I had no air con, 30 kids and old infrastructure that’s designed to retain heat. Please, sit this one out.

"As someone from a country where the infrastructure is designed to deal with extreme heat, things would be different there". Man, what a genius!

In Australia you have this fantastic thing called air conditioning and buildings that aren’t built to insulate heat

This debate is soo boring, every person from hotter countries just never get that our infrastructure is not built for this extreme heat. Our summers used to have highs of 27/28 degrees, not 36/37 for weeks on end, so yes we struggle.

It’s almost as if we’re having record breaking temperatures and our infrastructure is struggling with it. WILD, I know.

Quick railway fact that causes issues in the high temps, our rails are stress tested to a lower temperature than other countries (because of the lower average temps in the UK) therefore in the heat the rails actually will move as they expand and retract more. This is what is leading to reduced services.

I don’t think people realise that when you’re used to the heat you tolerate higher heat and in New Zealand in Australia not for buildings air conditioning and not all buildings are insulated in a anyway. But we are used to high heights 30/31° is quite common in summer

Its 36c in london today which is hot. Australia is a desert. Its not humid. Also, Australia's infrastructure is built for hot summers. Our infrastructure is old

Crazy concept. Hear me out. Maybe it's because we're not used to this high of temperatures and in Australia it's normal?

What a lovely air conditioned train. Try spending the same time in a brick building without AC and with very high humidity

If you’re in London you should know then that the buildings and trains aren’t equipped to deal with the heat
