I made a edit out of this but I thought of the delusion of a fresh start because he kept trying to keep saying some “starting now” again and again and kept trying to run away from what he has done and trying to always start a fresh start

it's about delusion from a viewers interpretation (at least for me) but redemption through the characters interpretation.

it's both. redemption: Barry convincing himself that gene would forgive him if he got gene a part in a top leading role. delusion: thinking gene would forgive him for doing so, and also kidnapping him to try and get it to happen. truth: he knows he can't be redeemed. that's why he told Sally he knows where he's going when he dies. (hell)

Barry himself thought his story was about redemption but the truth is he did not change despite the multiple opportunities he was given, in fact he sinks deeper into irredeemable as the series progressed and it’s in his final moment when he does decide to do the right thing he’s killed 😭💔
