Not only the past and present, but every future event. Nothing happens outside His knowledge or plan. At the same time, humans are held morally responsible for their actions. But this is contradictory. Imagine a murderer. The victim dies exactly when Allah always knew they would die. The event was not a surprise. It was already part of reality as known by God. So what exactly did the murderer do? Did he act against God's plan? If so, God's plan was not absolute. Or did he act according to God's plan? If so, why is he punished for carrying out something already known and written? Believers often answer with the concept of free will. Critics argue that genuine freedom becomes difficult to understand when every future event is already known with certainty. The question is not whether murder is wrong.
