ugh just let people read and have fun. not everything needs to be top tier literature - barely anyone reads anymore, so when i see them reading ANY books, sarah j maas or not, that's a huge win. we do not need to act all superior to these people for basically doing the reading equivalent of liking pop music.

This is also a good point on why genre covers/titles SHOULD look similar. Because by looking at these books you immediately know what type and genre the book is and you know to avoid it.

You should judge a book by it's cover because that's exactly what a book cover is designed for. If the only way to judge a book were by it's content, you'd have to read the whole book in order to decide you want to read the book.
