When you pass a conductor through a magnetic field it creates electricity and the the changing magnetic field induces circular currents (eddy currents) which slow the magnet down. Same principles used in eddy currents brakes for roller coasters and high speed trains.

It’s nothing to do with that. The ball is a perfectly shaped sphere now the magnet is a diced shaped. That is not perfect because it dosent need to be perfect but the ball does. It has to do with the air that passes over the dice. It’s the same reason earth spins perfectly on its axis imagine if the earth was a flat cylindrical shape. So you are wrong.
