It is HORRIBLE within the Resident Evil fandom as well, nowadays you can’t enjoy a popular character without being called a larp. I’m a huge Ethan Winters fan (Resident Evil 7, Resident Evil 8) and sometimes i’m too afraid to even say a word in fandom discussions bc not only is Ethan a popular character as well, but his lore/story isn’t fully dependent on the rest of the franchise’s lore, and because of that a LOT of people say “oh Resident Evil 7 brought larpers!!!🥺” like come on dude

I'm into homestuck. as an OG I think it's ridiculous to bully someone for not memorizing all 1.02 MILLION words. which I've seen someone try to do to a new fan who only just started the comic and learned who karkat was. like ppl need to be so for real. let people enjoy stuff.

I don't believe that but LARP is an acronym for live action role play it doesn't mean poser... and before anybody in the comments get on me talking about oh well words can have new means... this is an acronym and that's not how it works you can't just take an existing word or acronym and turn it into something else

Everyone starts over new when they get into a fandom for the first time. Don't be rude to people who haven't seen all the episodes/movies, and who don't know the culture yet. You can enjoy a painting from 50 feet away as you're walking towards it.
