YA ABBAS (as) 🤍 Mola Abbas (as) is highly revered in Islamic history as the epitome of loyalty, bravery, and self-sacrifice. As the half-brother of Imam Hussain (as) and son of Imam Ali (as). He served as the standard-bearer and chief protector of the Prophet’s household during the tragedy of Karbala. He is also known as Alamdar ,the standard-bearer, or the flag-carrier, for Imam Hussain’s (as) carvan, Saqqa: Meaning the water-carrier, a title given for his heroic efforts to bring water to the besieged children of the Prophet’s family. At the Battle of Karbala, Mola Abbas (as) was the commander-in-chief of Imam Hussain (as) forces. His most defining and poignant act occurred on the Day of Ashura when he fought through the enemy lines to fetch water from the Euphrates river for the thirsty children in his brother’s camp. On his return, he was ambushed; both of his arms were severed, and he was ultimately martyred. Mola Abbas (as) remains a universal symbol of courage and brotherly devotion.
