I hate the term "helping" because it insinuates that the work is her responsibility and hes doing her a favor by "helping" her. Don't ask if you can help with laundry/dishes/cleaning/etc, just do the damn chores that need to be done!

My sister has been frayed for like 2 days with their kids (3 and 1) and she called me and was like "come to the store with me and we can shop. He told me to go and hed watch the kids" and she was so excited to simply leave without the kids. I literally do not know the last time I went somewhere with my sister and none of her kids, we usually have at least the 1 yr old. And she was physically relieved to go and have this break. Which was hardly a break since we were shopping for the food for her kids 1st bday 🤣 but for her that is as fun as it is stressful so she enjoys it

If I had a roommate, and I just never did dishes or laundry so she ended up the one having to do all of it, and I expected her to ask me if she wanted me to do my own dishes and laundry, I would be a shitty roommate.
