@stillbecomingmama: there is something about 2am specifically that makes the thoughts more permanent feeling. like the conclusions you reach at that hour have a weight to them that daytime thinking can’t quite shake loose. and the conclusion i kept reaching was this one. that i was the only one. not in a dramatic way. just in that slow settling way of something that starts as a feeling and becomes a fact without you noticing the transition. i was the only one still awake. the only one crying about nothing specific and everything at once. the only one who had not figured out how to surrender to this season without falling apart in the middle of it at least once a night. it felt true the way things feel true at 2am, completely and without room for argument. and the hard part about a belief like that is that it changes how you move through the night. you stop reaching out because reaching out feels like admitting something that only you are struggling with. you start holding it tighter and quieter because if it is only yours then it is also only yours to carry. and then the yellow lights. and the 2am certainty just quietly dismantled itself. not because someone argued me out of it. just because the evidence showed up and the belief had nowhere left to stand. i was not the only one. i was never the only one. the 2am brain just has very bad access to the truth. #postpartum #newmom #postpartumsupport #momlife #momtok
