It’s not true that non-capitalist societies produce surplus values since value itself is a phenomenon that only appears in commodity producing societies. What you mean is surplus product. Surplus value is only a specific form of surplus product which arises when wage labor produces greater value than it is worth itself. Also there wouldn’t be any billionaires in China if production and the surplus value was actually under societal control

he just utilises a motte and bailey fallacy, he asserts a claim to appeal to a certain type of audience, and then falls back on a different, more easily defensible argument. that's why people use the first clip to criticise him, because the second argument is completely obvious and sort of contradicts the first one.
